Oh man!

Oh man!  One more month until I'm the mother of a one year old.  Where in the bleep did the time go.  Although we didn't have time to do the "official" month birthday photo session, I did manage to get lots of candid images of Milo yesterday during his unofficial celebration of turning eleven months.

A good splash in the dogs water started out our day before going to his friends one year birthday party.  I dressed him up in his Easter clothes (which he never wore 'cause it was raining and we stayed home), only to get trashed when crawling around on the deck.  Heck, aren't babies suppose to get dirty?

The boy is really on the move now.  The days of propping him up in front of the camera and making funny sounds to get him to laugh are over.  I am now reaching to my photojournalism roots to capture his progressive movements.  Well, our next "special" photo shoot will be extra special.  It's just craziness!

Here are some other of my favorites from this past week:

The day before the store

Christian and I knew life was going to get pretty crazy as soon as he got the liquor license in his name and was going to take over Historic Plaza Liquors so we scrambled last second to take a quick day trip knowing it would probably be our last in a while.

We decided to go check out Muir woods.  What a magical place.  Once we got off the beaten path, away from the boarded path and away from the gobs of people, we basically had the place to ourselves.  We decided to take the Ocean View trail but never saw the vista that the name suggested.  Non the less it was beautiful.

It's amazing how diverse this area is and all the natural wonders there are to enjoy.  I love it and am glad I can introduce Milo to all these wonderful places.

This panoramic was composed of 10 images stitched together.

Back to The Network

Well, it's been a crazy, hectic, and very satisfying past month helping Christian get his store up and running while balancing my biz and mamahood.  I've hardly taken any photos of Milo since his "special" 10 month photo shoot, but I did have a surprisingly smooth full day shoot that I brought him to several days ago.  For the first time Milo came with me for a nine hour assignment.  Switching from carrying him in the carrier, having him crawl around on the floor, hanging with Lorna, and snoozing in the stroller, we pulled it off.  He was so well behaved and a super trooper.

The property me and my little assistant photographed was so cool.  There was an eclectic hodge-podge of different interior design styles.  The living room was a sort of gothic theme space with a fireplace mantle that was a reproduction of a detail from a famous Gaudi building, but right around the corner, a kitchen painted heritage green had country charm written all over it.  The two outbuildings placed next to the main house with a round-about cobble stone driveway reminded me of a little scene from France.  Statues and pillars adorned the backyard surrounding the pool, reminisent of old Italy.  What a fun place.

I look forward to getting back into the groove of things and finding the time for social networking.
